Im watching an 1hr 20 min dealie about google wave... I don't really know anything about it, but it seems like google is pushing to revolutionise email and online communication... |
Also do any dorgers have any accounts they want to help spread? |
I want an account, true, but I also hadn't seen any other google wave threads. |
Google wave will be amazing for group work / Large projects. |
Is it really worth watching that entire thing? What's the gist of it? |
what is google wave? I can't be bothered to watch a video. |
it's hard to say if it's 'worth' watching, but it shows you a lot of the functionality of google wave. |
Hmm, that seems pretty sweet. I did watch a bit of it, and they just talked about how their emailing system works, and how it's instant messager/emailing/forum all at the same time, which seems cool. Especially the part where your message can be transferred in real time, and there's no "Gooseman is typing..." thing to it. |
the final thing they showed was a real time translator... |
I don't understand this one bit, but I will master it when necessary. |
are you blaming google for 9/11? |
is this about trail of dead pet? |
it is? you need to add that to the meme post. canny! |
but it's your meme kat. |
That translator thing is pretty sweet. I hope it would work better than the Google translator they have now, which isn't very good. |
from the extremely brief demo they gave, it looked to be okay... |
he's a much more succinct and entertaining video (though it doesn't go into a lot of depth, google wave has a lot of potential because it's open source and extensible like firefox ) |
*here's |
thanks gront. |
who has invite capabilities? |
people with invites |
can i get an invite? |
if you can find someone with an invite to give you. |
Ok, I just got Google Wave. What's so great about it? I really don't understand! |
can't wait for the dorg wave |
It's going to make quite the splash! |
Lol. The irony of getting a covetted possession and not knowing what it does and not really be able to do anything with it... It's delicious. |
I guess if you're the only person you know who has it then it's really not very useful at all! |
true dat. |
I emailed an eBay seller who was auctioning them off and bought one from him directly for $3. |

“Without saying much, we can just blend with each other and play, which is how most of the songs came together before there were even lyrics. And again, I played half the record without knowing what the lyrics were going to be and barely what the vocal melody was. That's kind of typical of Ben. He turns in his term papers very late.”
